This Is Where OUR Story Begins

Hi everyone! I'm back again to share a super quick mixed media layout I made yesterday for someone dear to my eldest girl. She is an English teacher who loves all her students dearly and teach them with lots of passion and patience. The kind of teacher any students would like to have.
For this layout, I used combination of Heidi Grace designed paper for the background and Kaisercraft 6x6 paper pad for layering. I always like to use different element to my project. First I gesso-ed the page where I wanted the layering to be and applied modeling paste through a stencil.
I wanted to make some flowers to match the inspirational mood board so I gathered a piece of metallic brown paper, different size of flower punch and rhinestones for the purpose. That was the last touch on this layout before I give it to the recipient on the same day.
As I mentioned earlier, I was inspired by this lovely vintage mood board at Berry71bleu. I end up using all the colors in the panels, added lace and painted the frames with watercolors after applying a coat of gesso and modeling paste.
 I always use a sketch for my layout and Bumaga-Maraka presents pretty sketch to work with.
 I am so glad the recipient loves her layout so much. It was such a joy to see her excitement when she looked at it in amazement. I feel so appreciated and such an honor {smile}. It is such a bliss to make someone happy.
I hope you like this project today and will share two canvas projects in the next couple of days. Thank you for dropping by and leaving me sweet comments.
Take care and have a sweet weekend.

The Best Day Ever @ TTCRD

{My DT work for TTCRD}

Hey there friendly people! I completed this layout a week ago but haven't got the chance yet to blog it for the reason of being very sick last week and now slowly recuperating and feeling better hour to hour. Time runs sometimes not even telling us that we have approached mid-month. That's right, exactly one and a half month to go and 2017 greets the world. Let the new year come bringing more happiness than tears, lots of laughter than sorrow, bunch of hugs than ignorance, more love than hatred. Aaah, enough blab...

Moving on to my layout for my little girl which I did as part of my design team work for Through The Craft Room Door weekly challenge. I printed the photo last year and finally it lands on a sweet patterned paper from Kaisercraft. I wanted to make this page soft and sweet with  minimalist thinking in mind but end up with some layered paper strips and giving more attention to the daisies.
 This week we are sponsored by Sandi's Samples and we design team girls were given the privilege to select her favorite digital images. I picked daisies because I love flowers; have one pot of pink daisy in my garden and the owner is my middle girl.
Sandi allowed me to fuzzy cut her daisies {thank you so much Sandi}. I love fuzzy cut but it was a wonder to have that patience doing that {chuckle}.

I had fun making this girly page although I must say pink is never my favorite color but red is, lol.
That's all for today. Enjoy life and cherish every day.

Hugs and smiles,

{My DT work for STAMPlorations}

Hi there! Wishing you good health and happiness. Here's me with my art journal that spells freedom if I can say that {smile}.
I used flutters and splatters large stencil to create the background. Then I stamped some butterflies randomly using blossom like a butterfly stamp. Then I colored the wings with watercolors.
I love the new sentiment stamps for their versatility that allow me to create a sentence. Click here for more Bold Sentiments.
I hope this one layered art journal gives you some inspirations to keep your creative juices flowing. I get my color inspiration from this pretty mood board at ScrapClub:
 Until then. Have a good day and thank you for dropping by.

Thankful @ Scrap Africa

{My DT work for Scrap Africa}

Hi everyone! Here's sharing my last layout for the day, a scrapbook page designed as part of my dt work for Scrap Africa. A new sketch is up and the design team has came up with spectacular inspirations for you. Go here and have a see.

I made this layout for my eldest girl's keepsake. All the while I scrap her little sister and she complains that her pages can be counted with fingers yet her little sister's pages are countless {lol}
Here's the sketch by Denise, isn't it gorgeous? I did my best to follow the sketch as close as possible and so I used Kaisercraft 'Base Coat' paper collection. This is the first time I used such background paper design. I'm more of a brick lover but I also love plank of woods. You bet I won't hoard the paper collection no more {teeheehee}.
Some up-close pictures:
 The one thing I was unable to achieve is the film strip so I replaced it with a rectangle kraft cardstock and tucked in punched strip underneath for dimension. I adhered Kaisercraft die cuts quotes so my big girl will understand what life is all about {smile}. 'Alyaa left home for boarding school two years ago at age 13. She only comes home once a month and during school break. When the entire family reunite, we will go places and some time back in August we visited a park with horses around. This friendly horse didn't mind us around him. It's never easy to photograph one with animal but I was fortunate to come out with this tight and sharp shot which I don't even have to zoom in at photo editor except changing it to black and white since I run out of ink color to print {brrr}. Then again I must say this is my best photography so far {big grin ~ hehe}.
 If you are regular visitor you probably know by now that I love to make paper flowers. Sometimes I make them in leisure hours for future use (like the big blue rose above) and sometimes I make there and then when I need to create flower cluster. Thus out come all paper scraps, punches even Sizzix making super quick flowers like those little blue ones.
 I love the new leaf bliss stencil by STAMPlorations. The black leaves are from a very thin wood bookmark which can be cut out for decoration. I have also punched few more leaves for interest.
The colors used on my page are inspired from Scrapkopilka mood board. Without doubt the picture of the girl and the horse in the mood board becomes my main factor to use my photograph of 'Alyaa and the friendly horse. I am also attracted to the blue flowers, hence the handmade paper roses. The designed paper resemble the wood in the mood board and I splattered yellow paint for extra interest besides artsy style.
I hope you have enjoyed reading my post this time. I look forward to see your creations at Scrap Africa by mid-November. See you when I see you. Take care

 Hugs and smiles,

Remember This Moment @ STAMPlorations

{My Dt work for STAMPlorations}

Hi everyone! I'm back enjoying Sunday; my reading day so to speak. I have a a new layout designed as part of my dt work for STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday and that leads to a new beginning of a monthly mixed media challenge. My fellow teammates displayed gorgeous creations in their blogs as well. Click here.

While heating the car engine to attend a wedding, my eldest daughter requested a photo shoot which is very rare of her of asking knowing how much she gets fed up of her mamarazi taking pictures all the time...yes, my camera follows me All the TIME {giggle}. I couldn't resist the temptation so I snapped her with her brother; they are just a year difference in age. The other two girls were already seated in the car and couldn't be bothered to join the session. Told you they are bored with mamarazi!
Supplies used: Kaisercraft patterned papers, Carla Craft punch, MS punch, Alpha modeling paste and gesso, Versafine ink pads, Buncho watercolors, black gel pen, seed beads, gems, Sizzix dies, twine, my trusty sewing machine, ARTplorations Leaf Bliss stencil

Some close up pictures:
I am inspired by the three colors offered at Art-Piaskownica Challenge Blog to create this page. The colors are perfectly match and the thread itself encourage me to sew the edges. Sewing is also my passion when time permits {smile}.
 This sketch at Srapclub suits my taste so well. Thanks a bunch!
You have one month long to join our mixed media challenge. You can make anything to your heart content but no cards please. Also use stencil/s {any brand or homemade ones} to be eligible for the prize. Send your entries here.
Thank you for visiting me today. Wishing you blue skies and everything nice.

Hugs and smiles,
