TIME is FREE @ DS4J {New Sunday Release}

{My DT work for DS4J}

Hi everyone! I'm happy to welcome my new friend cum follower Mel to my blog. To all of you my wonderful friends and visitors, it's always a pleasure to have your visits and supportive crafty comments, thank you so much.

I'm thrill to share with you my newest mixed media card. In the beginning it was supposedly to be a soften lighten brighten colorful planning but as I started playing with watercolors, I went wild and added more darkness and more darken edges {can't do without black, that's always my problem, duh!}. I just can't do without black stamping neither black colors.
I believe my love for black comes from Black Beauty the story book I read at primary school.
Since then I often say black is beauty {chuckle}.

So do you like the focal point? The young lady is called Patchwork Pat
She is a new digital image released today at Digistamps4Joy e-shop. The design team has created stunning cards for your inspirations; take a look here.
Supplies used: DS4J digi image, STAMPlorations stencil + stamp, Prima flower, 13arts doily, Kaisercraft stamp + paper pad, Memory Keepers stamp, quote from Pinterest, Alpha watercolors + modeling paste, Faber Castell watercolor pencils, Tim Holtz's distress ink, Devian gesso, Carla Craft punch, Jeff punch, black beads, glitter, card stock and paper stash

Some close-up pictures:
If you look closer, you can see the textural background is adhered with pieces of square leftover card stock and patterned papers to fill up the card base. Then I spread light gesso all over and let dry. Next I used stencil to make some patterns using modeling paste.
Erm, I was this close to snap a pic of the early process but the camera showed the battery blinky light and its iris shut down automatically {I hate when that happens}
 I found the time quote from Pinterest. It's one of the sources I search for quotes and save in folder. I love motivational quotes most of the time and often used it in my creations. I usually find a time after housework is done or the kids' stomachs are 'full' and then able to relax by reading some quotes to print all at once before I tackle the mountain of laundry to fold {6 people in the house; school uniforms, the hubby's uniforms, the day's wear etc} so you know why sometimes I need motivational quotes? {That's life, smile}
Taking my card into these challenges:
I love all the colors in this mood board and combined them altogether.
3. Archiscraps : Layering & Reflective
 That's it for today. Thank you for dropping by. Have a good day and use your time wisely {note to myself too, hihi}.

Hugs and smiles,

You Can Fly @ STAMPlorations {Special Stamp Release Hop}

...STAMPlorations ~ "Trendy Birds 2" New Stamp Release...

Hello everyone! Are you ready to join our hop? Yes? You may stand a chance to win the new stamp set if you do. Sounds easy huh? Just hop and leave comment.
Click HERE to take you to STAMPlorations blog.

I have created a layout emphasizing on bird theme.
Can you find the stamped birdie?
This is the stamp set that will be yours if you are the lucky winner!

What do you think of the stamped typography birdie? Beautiful isn't it? I love it. I fuzzy cut  and distress the edge with blunt scissor.
Some quotes placed on this page to motivate my big girl who loves climbing ever since she "found" her legs at tender age of 8 months old and still love to climb at this age now sweet 16 {smile}.
Plenty of layering. The more the merrier.
I wrote my feelings for my girl on the branch. I added more leaves through leaf bliss large ARTplorations stencil using modeling paste and colored in green shades when dried.
I love this photo of her sitting in the tree photographed by me on May 1 {another special day because it was my 17th WA. We spent some time sight seeing at the park}.
I also gain some color inspirations from this lovely mood board at Scraps of Darkness.
I love earth colors very much and used up almost all the colors in the mood board.
This awesome sketch from Scrap Club is used to kick start my layout.
I used one photo and played with punched leaves for bulky layers.
I hope you have enjoyed hopping from one dt's blog to another and be inspired too.
Hopefully you like my layout this time. Until then.
Thank you and have a good day.

The best DAY ever @ TTCRD

{My DT work for TTCRD}

Hello everyone! I'm good and busy at the same time. Mother of four is looking forward to mid term school break this coming two weeks!! Oh yea....aha.....that's right!! Meanwhile they are having mid term examination. Oh yucks...no fun...I know!! Majority of them, erm, okay just four of them told me, "Okay, not bad." Not sure I can trust their reply seeing how tense they look soon after I picked them up from schools. "Chill out," I assured them. This is only mid-year anyway, not the real exams my two kids will sit in September but however, pssst, I will cut down their pc game moment since the major exams are just some four months away. Feel the pain now then regret later is what I always tell my kids. Don't you agree? Sorry for the rant {smile}.

Back to my creation now, this time I make a clean and simple tag/bookmark.
The image Craft Queen is from Karleigh Sue who is sponsoring Through The Craft Room Door Anything Goes challenge this week.
 Details of supplies used is available in July/August TTCRD online magazine.
Click here for more info for subscription if you are interested.
That's it for today. Till next time. Have a blast!

This Is Me @ STAMPlorations

{My DT work for STAMPlorations}

Hi everyone! Sharing my layout for STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday showcase. My teammate Irit Shalom also has a lovely vintage creation to inspire you. Click here for more.
It's been a while I make shabby chick design so for this layout I wanted just that, simple and clean mixed media if I can say that {smile}. I have my 'lil girl's photo printed like four years ago for scrapping then but only now I did. Anyone like me? {chuckle}
 I printed freebie butterflies and fussy cut in the car while waiting for my 'lil girl to finish school. Yep, don't think loiter the time is good.
 The page was gesso-ed in the first place. Then I applied modeling paste through Big Bloom Factory Large Art ARTplorations stencil. I alsostamped more Trendy Butterflies randomly because I love butteflies!
 The framed sentiments are fussy cut from Kaisercraft collection. The leaves are punched using Carla Craft punch {my all time favorite}and distressed.
I used this lovely sketch from Creative Club to get me started:
And this beautiful colors at Crafty Life kept me going. I love the soft pastel colors and I think they suit my  shabby English style design. What do you think?
Meanwhile the May Mixed Media Challenge is still running at STAMPlorations until May 31. Get your anything mixed media creations here. However no card please and kindly display this badge on your post to be eligible for the prize if you are the winner.
That's it for today.
Until I see you next time. Take care and thank you so much for dropping by.

Beautiful Moment @ DS4J {Mid Challenge Reminder}

{My DT work for DS4J}

Hi everyone! Yours truly is here bringing a new layout today designed for Digistamps4Joy mid challenge reminder hosted by my fellow teammate Eva. The challenge this month is Anything Goes with a twist to add ribbon in your paper creations.
You have until May 31 to submit your entries here.
I have used digital image drawn by Margaret Kieser the owner of DS4J. It was fuzzy cut and colored with Faber Castell watercolor pencils.
 I'm giving credit to my German pen pal Christiane Hansel who gave me this photograph in her letter to me. She has been my wonderful pal since high school and I still keep her snail mail letters. Christiane loves traveling and trekking is one of her best skills besides photography. She snapped this stunning scene in Switzerland in June 2006. Wow that is 10 years ago!
I've added sequins, pearls, drywall tape, gauze and tucked in some Scrapberry's flowers underneath paper layers. The butterflies are usually a must in my creations; feel like my work is incomplete without the flying creatures and of course water colors is a must {smile}.
 I have used this lovely sketch from Bumaga-Maraca:
Taking my signature style layout to Anything But Cute challenge #13 Celebrate Your Style:

That's it for today. Thank you for dropping by and wish you a nice weekend.

Mixed Media ATC's @ TTCRD

{My DT work for TTCRD}

Hi all! First of all, I would like to welcome Autumn to my blog {{{{big hugs}}}}. I have been following Autumn for over a year now {if my memory is correct} and love her amazing mixed media projects all the time. Keep them coming for more inspirations!
Today I would like to welcome you to another challenge at Through The Craft Room Door this week. Same theme Anything Goes as always.

I created two pieces of ATC's using Swirly Whirlie Cats sponsored by LC Designs.
 I am so much in love with the cats {lol}. To know more about my creation, the details will be available in TTCRD June-July online magazine.
That's all for now. I appreciate your time visiting me and hope you like my ATC's.
Have a good day.
