Sassy Sayings @ MHKDesigns

{My DT work for MHKDesigns}

Hi friends! I am so excited to share with you the newest vintage digistamp release by MHKDesigns at the store today.

Sassy Sayings include four images and five sentiments. I used all four images in my creations:
I decided to leave the images as is because I think the women look fabulous that way.
What do you think?
That's it for today. Enjoy your weekend and have fabulous moments.

Typografia Motivate Blog Hop @ STAMPlorations

{My DT work for STAMPlorations}

Good morning world!
We are excited to bring you a special blog hop today at STAMPlorations.
We've just released the first in a series of TYPOGRAFIA stamps in the
 store couple days ago featuring 13 of the 33 stamps in the TYPOGRAFIA Motivate line.
Please allow me to say thank you for dropping by my blog to view the projects I have created using three different typografia stamps.
This is going to be a long post so please have a cuppa to keep you company.

My first creation is a tag:

I stamped Be The Change stamp directly on the background using Versafine black ink pad. It's a lie if I say I don't feel nervous about stamping directly on a finished background. I'm glad this one turned out perfect the second time after the first stamping didn't please me. The beauty about acrylic stamp is it lets me place back on the stamping image accordingly to press down the second time to make it looks better than before.
I hardly use yellows in my creation so for this tag, I decided to create a cheery tag in summer hence the choice of bright yellow here and there.

My second project is an art journal page:
The stamp used is call Plan A. There are many ways to use this stamp. One way is by stamping the quote on card stock then you may cut the letters or the word. Here I cut out WORK and adhered on the right side.
Lastly my third project is a rustic notebook cover:
I have to say this proof to be one of my favorite stamps! The quote is just too special and meaningful. I am one of those who often make mistakes while creating and will think of a way to fix it with mixed media elements.
I will have a tutorial on how I achieve the rustic look. I only played with paints and gesso to get the effect and for pattern, I used texture paste through crisscrossed ARTplorations stencil. Stay tuned in October for the tutorial on STAMPlorations blog..
So there you have seen my projects using the recent typografia motivate stamps.
I am sure you have already created ideas with these gorgeous stamps in your brain this minute. Am I right?
I wish you all the best of luck in the draw. You could be the lucky one to score your choice of 3 TYPOGRAFIA Motivate stamps. The winner will be announced on August 29 at STAMPlorations blog.
Meanwhile I'm taking my work into these challenges:
1. Addicted to Stamps and More! : Anything Goes
2. Fashionable Stamping : Ch#126 Use Your Inks Anyway You Like
3. The Artistic Stamper : Anything Goes
4. Mix It Up : Anything Goes

Good luck and enjoy your hop.

Good Cheers @ Digistamps4Joy

{My DT work for DS4J}

Happy Sunday everyone! I am so excited to share two projects with you today and our new releases at DS4J Shop.

For my first project, I played with watercolor paints in my art journal book using black and white mandala images drawn by our very new talented artist who joined the team at DS4J commencing today.
Let's welcome Delyth Angharad.

You can view more of Delyth's fabulous mandalas at her website.
For my project today, I used Flower 1 mandala.
Here are some close-up shots:
 I made textured background using texture paste through stencil.
 On both pages, I covered the side edges with serviette I recently bought. Firstly I glue down a ply of it then I brush off with light gesso.
 I printed the mandala into two different sizes on A4 paper and cut it out. Then I adhered them at the corners and used aqua brush to paint with watercolors. I also highlight the edges by making dots with black sharpie for interest.
 The background was painted with Deco Art paints and Buncho watercolors. I love to mix and match different brand of paints just for fun {smile}.

Next up is my second project that used a beautiful drawing by Jen named Thando.
I am a big fan of layers and have used three different pattern papers on my card.
I truly hope you have enjoyed my lengthy post today.
Do visit DS4J shop for more awesome images.
Also the monthly challenge is still running until the end of this month.
Come join us and stand a chance to win digi prize of your own choice from DS4J.

Thank you for dropping by and wish you a nice week ahead.
Hugs and smiles,

Bookmark @ MHKDesigns

{My DT work for MHKDesigns}

Hello friends and welcome to another design team work I did for MHKDesigns. It's my turn today to share my Designer Inspiration project at MHKDesigns blog.

I have created a quick and easy bookmark that used one of my favorite vintage images at MHKDesigns Etsy Shop.
I just love this stamp set Birdcage Silhouettes and the wonderful sentiments:
A few close-up shots:
Beautiful sentiment by Maya Angelou. Love it!
I tucked in punched hearts using Marta Stewart border punch.
  How do you find the silhouettes? On other note, I love taking silhouette photographs so this birdcage already gives me an idea for some lovely photo shoot I plan to do next week.

That's it for today. Until I see you again. Have a nice day.

Marvelous @ MHKDesigns

{My DT work for MHKDesigns}

Hi there friends! My second post for today is a mixed media art journal using MHKDesigns newest digistamp set released today.

This beautiful flowers come along with several sentiments in the set. Click here to purchase the stamp set at MHKDesigns etsy shop.

I created a minimalist mixed media artwork in my journal and I hope you find it inspiring {smile}.
Here's the stamp set up-close:
A few close up shots of my art journal:
 The sentiment is so true. What say you?
 I did a very attentive fussy cut with this image. Yes it's very delicate.
 Yes you guessed right dear! All my artwork in my journal book is upside down as you can see the text in this book pages are the other way round. I purposely get the text involve this time by not cover up the pages with heavy gesso; it's just for extra interest. My oldest sister, Lili gave me some old books from her former office that meant to stay in the bin forever so why not she gave them to me to re-purpose and recycle.
I wish to get this project into these challenges:
1. Try it on Tuesday : In My Garden
2. Love To Create : Ch#16 Anything Creative/Mixed Media Goes
3. Digi Designs : Flower Fancy
4. Art-Journal-Journey : Poetry In Motion

That's it for now. I shall be back again with a mixed media layout in my next post.
Stay tuned and have a wonderful day.

Hugs and smiles,

Enjoy Life Keep It Real @ DS4J

{My DT work for DS4J}

Hi everyone! How is life on your end? I'm good. As promised, I am back again within two days after my last post and here is to share my recent creation for Digistamps4Joy mid-challenge reminder. My teammate Karin is hosting this month and she has chosen summer theme for the optional twist in the Anything Goes challenge that ends at the end of this month.

I have created a quick and easy mixed media card with Clivia digital image you can get from DS4J shop
Some close up pictures:
 I started the background on a 200gsm drawing paper by applying texture paste through a stencil to create some flower patterns. After it is dried naturally, placed down some drywall tapes on the paper then I used a brush to 'paint' the surface with gesso and let dry.
 Next was coloring process which is always my favorite part. I used Deco Art paints to color the background by brushing down the colors here and there and spritz water randomly. I used heat gun to dry the first layer of colors. Then I used Buncho watercolors add some splash here and there.
 If you look at the small squares, they're patterns created from drywall tape I peel off after I have painted with Deco Art colors. The bubbles formed from heat gun blow was on purpose as I wanted texture. You can see similar technique I did in my art journal page.
And so this is how it was before I lay down the flowers. I used Faber Castell watercolor pencil and aqua brush to color the flowers.
That's it for today. I hope you will get some inspirations and ideas from my artwork today and hopefully you will play along in our monthly challenge before 31st August.

The challenges I'm taking part:
1. Creative Artiste Mixed Media : Anything Goes Mixed Media
2. Ooh La La Creations : Flowers
3. Crafty Friends : Ch#64 Anything Goes
4. Mixed Media World : AMMG with a twist (mood board)
{I've chosen shades of green, brown, yellow and black for my background}

Thank you for dropping by once again and I feel so thankful with the love you leave behind.
Have a good day.

Mixed Media ATCs @ DS4J

{My DT work for DS4J}

Hi everyone! I am back on this beautiful Sunday with my newest project designed for Digistamps4Joy with our new releases at DS4J Shop.

I created a set of mixed media Artist Trading Cards using black and white images drawn by our very new talented artist who joined the team at DS4J commencing today.
Let's welcome Lyndall Bosch.

You can view more of Lyndall's fabulous drawings at her website.
For my project today, I used uncolored images of
Shorthaired Cat and Collared Sunbird.
A few close-up pictures:
 The sentiments are obtained from the internet. If you are regular visitors, I am pretty sure you know my love for motivational quotes {smile}.
 I started my project by adhering a ply of tissue paper and applied a coat of gesso. I let dry naturally and had a see at my instagram account in between. Side track is common when I'm in no hurry to get a project done {lol}.
 The diamonds were stenciled with texture paste through crisscrossed stencil from STAMPlorations
 And no, I didn't do the black straight lines myself in the photo above. I can never draw straight lines. It was done with plaid maker stencil by placing it on top of the card and I dipped a dry sponge in black watercolor over the stencil to create the straight lines.
 The images were printed and cut out then pasted on the card after I have colored the background with watercolors and let dry. Only then I started highlighting the digistamps with Faber Castell watercolor pencils.
 I used white gel pel to highlight the quote too but at some point the ink refused to cooperate so I used paint brush and white watercolor to outline each phrase. When one doesn't work, there's another way...just don't give up!
I love the way it turned out in the end. The white cat looks so adorable but however my little girl said I should have colored her other than white, lol.
 I hope you will hop over to DS4J's blog and have a look at the gorgeous creations my talented design team mates have created with the wonderful new release images.

I wish to partake in these challenges:
1. Morgan's ArtWorld : Anything Goes
2. A Vintage Journey : Watercolor
3. Dragonfly Dreams : Animals

Thank you for your time and I really appreciate the love you leave behind.
I will be back again in a couple of days. Till then. have a great Sunday.

Hugs and smiles,
